That's right...after four months David is coming home. The feeding tube and trach have been removed. We feel very fortunate and blessed as others in the community have lost their loved ones to COVID. We pray and mourn with you.
The community is coming together on Monday, February 21 between 2:00-3:00 PM. The Town of Taylor and the Smith family welcomes you to line the streets from Freeman Park, turning right on Main Street and then left on Center Street up to the Smith home. Please look for updates on Rae Lynn Matthews facebook page. The time could change depending on his release and if stops need to be made. Please get the word out.
We ask that there be no visitors until Friday or Saturday to allow time for the medical professionals to get him settled and comfortable. David still has a long road ahead of him but we think he will recover quicker at home with his family and friends close by.
We are going to keep this go-fund-me open through March as we are not sure what lies ahead of him with his care at home and possible home modifications. We appreciate all the donations and prayers that have been offered in behalf of our family.
